Wedding photography equipment

I’ve been asked a lot, what equipment do I bring at a wedding. Well, as a wedding photographer, you have to be ready and prepared for the unexpected. Always bring backups, ALWAYS 🙂 You don’t want to tell your bride and groom “Uhhh guys, I’m sorry but I have to leave because my camera died.”.If you don’t have the funds yet, borrow or rent.
I remember my first wedding that I photographed, I lost money. I rented camera, lens and 2 flashes because I wanted to make sure that everything will go smoothly.

Ok, lets see what do I have in my bag for a wedding day (what is the wedding photography equipment that I use)

Cameras:

– Nikon D4 / my main camera /
– Nikon D810 /second camera /
– Nikon D750 / awesome camera /
– Nikon D700 / backup camera/
– Nikon P7700 / next time I will show you how I’m using that camera on a wedding day /
– Fuji x100s

Lenses:

– Nikkor Nikon 24-70 f2.8
– Nikkor Nikon 70-200 VR 2 f.28
– Nikkor Nikon 85mm f/1.4G AF-S
– Nikkor Nikon 50 f 1.4
– Nikkor Nikon 105 VR Macro
– Nikkor Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED / COMING SOON in my back 🙂 /
– and believe it or not, I do carry 18-55 kit lens / BACKUP, you never know 🙂 /

Flashes:

– Nikon SB910
– Nikon SB900
– Nikon SB 800

Everything is stored into Lowepro Pro Roller bag  Lowerpro shoulder bag.
I do bring a lot AA Eneloop batteries for my flashes and Pocket wizards.Usually I do need 2 sets of batteries for my main flash. Memory cards, video lights and gorilla pod just in case.
In my car I always have light stands, reflectors, 2 alien bees strobes and a tripod.

Please note that you don’t need all of that wedding photography equipment to start photographing weddings. In my next post I will give you my suggestions of what is the minimum equipment that you are going to need to get into the wedding photography field.
